Rugs of Orion

We drug out some old climbing rope and made a nifty lil' rug out of it. All we had to do was roll the rope up and duct tape the bottom! On another front, if you have never watched Dual Survivors on History channel you should give it some serious consideration. And in case you didn't know, wombats have very slow metabolism. It takes them about 2 weeks to digest their food, but, and this is extremely important, they can run up to 25 mph for 90 seconds!

So this is our other project. This rug is two different climbing ropes (one red, one white) woven together. This one has been a bit of a challenge and we are getting really close to having it done. It's been a work in progress for over a year.

The Table Is Finished!!

The Table Is Finished!!

So when I (Carrie) came home from work today this beauty was sitting in our kitchen! Doesn't it look fabulous? Nathan used sandpaper to rub the table down with lemon oil to take off all of the glitter from the preschoolers. The fabric on that bench is one of our table cloths that we are going to put on both benches, super cute right? If If I didn't know better than I do I would think this was straight from Anthropologie (only my favorite store in the whole wide world)

We have been inspired by our new addition to have people over for dinner more often. So if you would like to eat a meal here one night just let us know!
I just have the most amazing, hot, handy husband in the entire world. THANK YOU NATHAN!

Mango Lassi!

Mango Lassi!

This is quite a delicious treat! And by delicious I mean it's the best thing ever sculpted! We found this recipe in a country living magazine and does not taste bad at all.

What you Need:

2 mangoes
3 cups of plain yogurt
2 tablespoons sugar
2 cups water

How to Concoct:

Peel, pit and cut up your mangoes. Puree the mangoes, yogurt, sugar and water in the blender. Serve over ice. Will make about 4-6 cups. We also found that you can mix in some orange peach mango juice with it and it's quite fantastic!

Mango Peach Salsa Recipe

Meritorious Mango Peach Salsa!!!

We really enjoy us some Spanish-style nutrition, especially salsa! And this little brahma bull is no exception, an exquisite summertime fiasco!!

What you need:

2 peaches
1 mango
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 avocado
2 tablespoons lime juice
4 medium tomatoes
1/2 cup onion
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
1 teaspoon salt
1 jalapeno pepper (or 1/2 a poblano pepper if you don't like it spicy)
1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic

How to Concoct:

Dice your tomatoes, onion, and jalapeno pepper. Peel, pit, and dice up your mango, avocado and peaches. Saute your pepper, garlic, and onion (optional). Mix your mango, avocado, tomatoes and cilantro in a bowl. Add in your onion, pepper, garlic, olive oil and lime juice and salt to taste. Now feast!!!!
